Jonathan’s professional experience ranges from researcher to Executive in energy, water, land use and transportation. He most recently served as the Vice President of Policy, Design & Evaluation at CLEAResult, North America’s largest energy efficiency service provider. In the energy sector for the past 15 years, he has served as an advisor to utility clients and participated in legislative and regulatory proceedings, managed enterprise results from third-party evaluations, directed program implementation teams, and worked directly with businesses and institutions to manage their energy use.
Jonathan’s prior water sector experience includes local watershed planning efforts and the development of water quality regulations and guidance documents for Federal NPDES, TMDL, and water quality standard programs. Since starting AIQUEOUS, he has led research efforts on commercial sector water conservation savings for plumbing fixtures and landscape irrigation, and on the embedded water savings stemming from energy efficiency programs.
Jonathan holds Masters degrees in Environmental Engineering and in Technology & Policy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Bachelors degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Environmental Policy from Cornell University. He is a Certified Energy Manager and a LEED-accredited professional.
Vice President of Operations
Dan received his undergraduate Engineering degree from Texas A&M University and with his technical education and knack for innovation, he quickly rose through the ranks from intern into management within in a six-year span at the industry leader in energy efficiency. He was recognized in the 2011, “Young Professional to Watch” list by the Association of Energy Service Professionals (AESP) and was recently nominated as a finalist for the Forbes "30 under 30" list in 2015.
His determination has been exemplified numerous times, as he is an avid competitor that has successfully completed multiple marathons and Ironman triathlons around the country. Of all these accomplishments he’s most proud of finishing the Yellowstone - Teton 100 mile Ultramarathon "just to see if he could do it." He's also competed in the 2013, 2015, & 2016 Boston Marathons. Needless to say he’s a driven individual and probably enjoys outdoor physical activity a little too much.
Rebecca Klein is Principal of Klein Energy, LLC, an energy consulting company based in Austin, Texas. Prior to her founding of Klein Energy, LLC. Ms. Klein was the Chairman of the Public Utility Commission of Texas during which time she oversaw the restructuring of the State’s $36 billion electric power industry. She worked extensively with other State PUC commissioners and Federal regulators on issues related to power, water and critical infrastructure protection. From 2007 to 2013, Ms. Klein was Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), the largest river authority in Texas. From 1989-1992, she worked in the White House in the Office of Presidential Personnel where she assisted in recruiting and recommending sub-cabinet level presidential appointees.
Ms. Klein retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserve in January 2015. She is a veteran of Desert Storm where she served in Saudi Arabia. She received her academic training at Stanford University (B.A., Biology); Georgetown University (M.A., National Security Studies); and St. Mary’s Law School (J.D.). She is fluent in Spanish having grown up partly in Venezuela and Mexico. She is a native of San Antonio, TX.
Robert is a fearless litigator and unrelenting advocate for his clients. He has secured and enforced registered trademarks and other valuable intellectual property rights for his clients in more than 50 countries and has tried intellectual property cases in both state and federal courts. Mr. Kleinman is also one of the few US attorneys to have successfully registered a three-dimensional trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (Reg. No. 3858901). In 2009 he represented the seller in one of the 10 largest domain name sales ever ($1.76 million paid by buyer for “fly.com”).
Robert is a graduate of Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (LL.M. in intellectual property) and is licensed to practice in Texas, New York and Connecticut. Mr. Kleinman spends the majority of his time away from the office chasing his two fiendish children. In legal circles, he is commonly known as “the Honey Badger”.
Brian Simmons is a strategic management consultant, investor and entrepreneur. He is the managing partner of Agora Ventures LLC, with is a collaboration of investors and consultants which helped to found in 2016 to accelerate the growth of small businesses. He leads Agora’s efforts in the area of social justice, health, education, equality and the environment. Prior to Agora Ventures, Brian served as a Senior Vice President and Board member of CLEAResult and the President/Founder of Fluid Market Strategies, both of which were leaders in innovation and delivery in the energy efficiency industry. Brian was also a Non-Commissioned Officer in the United States Marine Corps, serving in conflicts including Desert Storm and Panama as well as disaster relief work in Bangladesh.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Advertising from Portland State University and has completed executive training courses in Strategy at Stanford University. He is the father of two teenagers and has been married for over 20 years. As an avid lover of the outdoors he hikes, mountain bikes and plays soccer regularly in his free time. Additionally, Brian supports several non-profit organizations focused on veterans affairs, affordable housing and the environment.
